You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into technical solutions, defining software/hardware interfaces, verifying requirements, and integrating safety-critical systems. This role supports the design and certification of embedded mission software for use in modern defense platforms.The WorkAs a Software Engineering Team Lead, you'll oversee the development of embedded software for mission and communication systems. You'll collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop C/C++ applications, integrate algorithms, and lead verification and testing activities. You'll manage team planning and coordination to deliver on technical performance, schedule, and cost, while contributing directly to code development and architecture.Key Responsibilities:-Lead embedded software development efforts
-Integrate algorithms and features into C/C++ applications
-Design, develop, test, and debug safety- and mission-critical avionics software
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software/hardware interfaces
-Support documentation, error correction, and performance validation

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a Software Engineering or related field, with 9 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 7+ year of relevant experience.
- Experience with the software algorithm requirements development with a strong math background (specifically multivariable calculus, linear algebra and control theory).
- Proficiency in Real Time Operating Systems like VxWorks
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++ or Python.
- Experience with Mission System architectures, avionics, and sensor subsystems.
- Experience with the design, integration and test of avionics systems and software operational programs.
- Experience with Agile practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
Desired skills
- Familiarity with technologies for Electronic Warfare, and Radar, and Link-16 subsystems and the development and integration into an avionics architecture.
- Experience with development of software requirements and working collaboratively with software engineers in the design, development, and test of software.
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) - Preferably CAMEO
- Experience with Command-line and shell scripting proficiency, Git version control and Docker Containers, and Wireshark
- Experience building strong customer relationships
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical strategies and challenges into verbal and visual presentations to be shared with senior management and senior customers contacts
- Current active Secret security clearance
