To continue our mission to empower our developers, we are working to centralize and develop self-service tools in Backstage, our internal developer platform. Travel may be up to 5% for occasional team meetings and training events.What you'll be responsible for:
- Write code to build full-stack platforms under minimal supervision.
- Plan, design, and build the core infrastructure systems used by all of Jack Henry Digital's engineering teams.
- Debug critical production infrastructure issues that may impact multiple sites and services.
- Manage and maintain infrastructure tooling.
- Focus on site state and health with the discipline that allows us to easily and automatically move workloads to avoid failure.
- Work with engineering teams to understand their priorities and emerging needs to prioritize solutions that keep pace with product development.
- Advocating for coding standards and best practices.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or DevOps environments.
- Experience working in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Gitlab CI/CD).
- Familiarity with the full life cycle of software development, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Ability to write high quality, maintainable, and scalable code and applications.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Git and Github.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Understanding and practical experience in declarative service infrastructure environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience in implementing security best practices within all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Experience writing and documenting standards and practices.
- Experience working with collaboration tools, including Jira and Slack.
- Experience with observability platforms, including Datadog and Honeycomb.
- Experience in HTML/CSS and UI/UX development.
- Experience working with Internal Developer Portals such as Backstage or other DevEx tooling.
